Applications Open for Building Excellence Grants

Hampton Roads Community Foundation’s Building Excellence grants program helps nonprofit organizations increase their development and fundraising capabilities. Each year, HRCF selects three nonprofits from South Hampton Roads to receive Building Excellence grants. These grants provide 18 months of consulting services from The Curtis Group designed to help organizations build development capacity in key areas such as:

- Mission and strategic planning
- Case statement, communications, and marketing
- Volunteer recruitment
- Fundraising
- Recordkeeping and database management
- Board and executive director’s involvement in fundraising

This is the fourth year that The Curtis Group has worked with Hampton Roads Community Foundation to provide capacity-building services to recipients of these grants. Receiving a Building Excellence grant does not affect a nonprofit’s ability to apply for funding through other HRCF grant programs.
