Director of Development and Community Outreach, Elizabeth River Project

The Elizabeth River Project, a nationally acclaimed nonprofit successfully restoring the Elizabeth River, is seeking an experienced development professional to lead its development program. The Director of Development and Community Outreach Programs is responsible for the organization’s annual fund, major gifts program, an upcoming capital campaign, the supervision of two staff with responsibility for an annual event, membership, online fundraising, volunteers and PR/Marketing.  They will also be responsible for supervising the organization’s partnership with its PR/Marketing firm and its fundraising consultant.  This position will report to the Executive Director and will work closely with the organization’s Board of Directors to achieve Development goals.

It is imperative that the successful candidate have superior written and verbal communication skills, a BS/BA degree, proven success in a development career, and a desire to make a difference as part of a fast-paced team of 10 professionals.  Major gift experience is preferred.
