Vice President

 

Developing strategies to assist her clients achieve their development and organizational goals is what excites Hilary Fulp about her work at The Curtis Group. As vice president, Hilary works with a diverse set of nonprofit clients to raise significant dollars and enhance their overall fundraising capacity. She has successfully led and overseen the execution of numerous campaign planning studies, development assessments, capacity-building initiatives and campaigns ranging from $350,000 to $25 million.

During her time with The Curtis Group, Hilary has supported the missions of more than 30 nonprofit partners from across the country, working hand in hand with their staff and volunteers. Her clients appreciate the dedication Hilary brings to her work and how she empowers them in leveraging best practices to enhance their fundraising skills. Beyond her experience with major gift fundraising, Hilary has presented on topics, such as building a fundraising board and crafting a strategic development plan.

Prior to joining The Curtis Group team, Hilary served as a legislative manager at a federal advocacy and consulting firm in Washington, D.C. In this role, Hilary advanced the legislative agendas for a diverse set of nonprofit clients, which included foundations, major health systems, broad-based coalitions and grassroots campaigns. Before transitioning to the private sector, Hilary spent nearly two years as congressional staff for a senior appropriator in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Hilary holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from John Carroll University and has received trainings from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, the Giving Institute and Virginia Fund Raising Institute. She is vice president of the board for the Hampton Roads Gift Planning Council, co-chair of National Philanthropy Day and board member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals-Hampton Roads chapter.

Outside of work, Hilary enjoys volunteering and supporting charities focused on poverty alleviation, wellness, and animal welfare, and spending time with husband, Jamie, and dog, Gideon.
