Jillian loves fostering a sense of community and being hands-on to bring about positive change. Her career in the nonprofit sector has afforded her these daily opportunities by providing experience building donor relationships, engaging volunteers and cultivating partnerships with the community. As a client manager, she supports nonprofits as they work to build sustainable fundraising programs and helps them create a comprehensive development plan to expand their reach.
Prior to joining The Curtis Group, Jillian served as development coordinator for the YWCA, an organization that works to strengthen social movements that eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace, justice and dignity for all. During her tenure at the YWCA, Jillian oversaw all community fundraisers, managed corporate sponsorships and all day-to-day operations of a multi-faceted development department. She has also held an integral role in fundraising at the Virginia Zoo and brings experience with event fundraising, grant and prospect research and project management.
Jillian holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Mary Washington. Currently, she serves on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Hampton Roads Chapter and as a member of the National Philanthropy Day Committee. She is also a member of tHRive Young Professionals and serves on the regional engagement committee and is a member of the inaugural class of James Farmer Circle members for the University of Mary Washington. In 2020, Jillian was recognized as a “Millennials on the Move” from CoVABIZ.
In her free time, Jillian loves playing volleyball and kickball with her rec league, volunteering, going to events in the community and spending time at the beach with her partner, Marcus, and chocolate lab Raegan.
