Kate Boyles has over a decade of experience working with nonprofit organizations to build relationships, meet financial goals, and strengthen operations in order to achieve their missions. Her experience covers a range of development activities, including the planning, management and implementation of annual fundraising programs, board engagement, campaign planning, and nonprofit communications. She is passionate about the benefits of collaboration and communication. She brings this collaborative drive to her role as a consultant, helping development teams, boards, and volunteer leadership work cohesively and strategically to meet their goals.

Prior to joining The Curtis Group, Kate served as associate director of development at The Steward School. She has also held the role of director of development with Riverside School and Richmond Behavioral Health Foundation. Kate graduated magna cum laude from the College of William and Mary with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and women’s studies. She also has a certificate in planned giving from the Institute on Philanthropy at the University of Richmond.

Kate is a leader in the industry, volunteering her time to promote philanthropy and the fundraising profession. She is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, serving on both the AFP Central Virginia Board of Directors, where she is president-elect, and the AFP State Caucus. In addition, Kate has served as a past chair of the Virginia Fund Raising Institute. She has also volunteered with Impact100 Richmond and Richmond Public Schools.

In her free time, Kate loves staying active in the Richmond community with her husband, Josh, and their two children, Charles and Amelia.
