Marissa Monell


Marissa Monell is inspired by the critical role of philanthropy in nonprofit organizations and the work that they do to build healthy and vibrant communities. As client manager with The Curtis Group, she works closely with clients to help guide them through the day-to-day processes of campaign planning studies, campaign management and fundraising capacity building efforts. Marissa has worked with organizations across different sectors and geographic regions as they build and strengthen their fundraising programs, work toward organizational goals, and enhance service to their communities.

Prior to joining The Curtis Group, Marissa worked with the Virginia Air & Space Center, where she had the opportunity to support a transformational capital campaign, while also managing the operations of a multi-faceted development operation. She played an integral role in fundraising for several arts & culture nonprofits, including the American Alliance of Museums, and brings experience with nonprofit consulting, event fundraising, prospect research and project management.

Marissa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California, Santa Cruz and a Master of Arts degree in museum studies from George Washington University, focused on museum management and leadership. She also earned a Graduate Certificate in nonprofit management during her time at George Washington University.

Outside of work, Marissa enjoys traveling to new places, cooking and eating good food and spending time with her husband, Jake, and fur babies, Charlie and Ollie.
