Marissa Monell


Marissa Monell is inspired by the critical role of philanthropy in nonprofit organizations and the work that they do to build healthy and vibrant communities. As client manager, she supports nonprofits as they build and strengthen their fundraising programs, work toward organizational goals, and enhance service to their communities.

Prior to joining The Curtis Group, Marissa served as the manager of development and external relations for the Virginia Air & Space Center. During her tenure, she had the opportunity to work on a transformational capital campaign, all while managing the day-to-day operations of a multi-faceted development operation. She has played an integral role in fundraising for several arts & culture nonprofits, including the American Alliance of Museums, and brings experience with nonprofit consulting, event fundraising, prospect research and project management.

Marissa holds a Master of Arts degree in museum studies from George Washington University, focused on museum management and leadership. She also earned a Graduate Certificate in nonprofit management during her time at George Washington University. Outside of work, Marissa enjoys traveling to new places, eating good food and spending time with her fiancé, Jake, and fur babies, Charlie and Ollie.
