The Curtis Group Promotes Wendy McGrady to President and Chief Operating Officer

VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia (May 7, 2025) — The Curtis Group, a leading national fundraising consulting firm, is pleased to announce the promotion of Wendy McGrady to President and Chief Operating Officer. This leadership transition reflects the firm’s continued growth and long-term strategic vision. Keith Curtis, who founded the firm in 1989, will remain Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, focusing on high-level strategy, client engagement, and advancing the broader philanthropic sector. In her new role, Wendy will lead the firm’s day-to-day operations, oversee implementation of growth initiatives, and ensure excellence in team development and client services.
According to Keith Curtis, founder and CEO of the firm, “Wendy’s leadership has been transformational, both for our firm’s development and the missions of our nonprofit partners. With nearly two decades with the firm, she is an expert fundraiser and exceptional professional, and we are fortunate to have her in this well-deserved role.” Since joining The Curtis Group in 2007, she has been promoted to the level of Vice President, then Executive Vice President, then Chief Operating Officer, and has helped her clients raise millions of dollars. This includes work with community colleges, health care institutions, independent schools, retirement communities, human service organizations of all sizes, and many arts organizations.
McGrady is an advocate for careers in philanthropy and an industry leader. She currently serves as the chair of the Giving USA Foundation, and is a past chair of the Giving USA Editorial Review Board. She is also a past chair of the Virginia Fundraising Institute and a past president of the Hampton Roads chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Wendy is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Hollins University and has served on the University’s Alumnae Board. She has served on the boards of the Elizabeth River Project and ForKids, and is a past vestryperson and senior warden at Christ and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Norfolk, Virginia.
