Senior Consultant
With 25 years of experience in nonprofits, foundations and philanthropy, Timothy McCue loves helping organizations have outsized impact and telling their stories—two key drivers of philanthropy and fundraising in a modern world.
Timothy brings a broad perspective from his tenure as nonprofit employee, foundation grantmaker, foundation board member, and nonprofit beneficiary. Drawing on these experiences, he helps organizations strengthen strategy, build capacity and more effectively communicate their impact to donors and stakeholders.
Most recently, Timothy was an Assistant Vice President at CCS Fundraising where he partnered with organizations on engagement plans, feasibility studies, strategic planning, campaign management and more. Prior, he led the health programming at the National Association of Counties. As a former Director of Grant Programs and Senior Program Officer at Potomac Health Foundation and the William J. & Dorothy K. O’Neill Foundation, he brings experience from the foundation side of philanthropy.
Early in his career Timothy led community programming such as Walk a Hound, Lose a Pound at the Cleveland Department of Public Health as part of the Steps to a Healthier Cleveland grant from 2006 – 2009.
Timothy holds a master’s in public health from Case Western Reserve University and a bachelor’s in English with Creative Writing from Hiram College.
Timothy has previously served as a non-family board member with the John & Wauna Harman Foundation and Director on the board of Plexus LGBT & Allied Chamber of Commerce. Outside of work, Timothy enjoys movies, Broadway theater, and everything Disney. Timothy lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with his partner Jonathan and their two rescue dogs Barnaby and Cornelius.
