Associate Consultant

 

Grounded in a relationship-centered approach, Alissa helps nonprofits connect their mission with people and communities, strengthening both engagement and impact. As an Associate Consultant with The Curtis Group, she partners with clients on campaigns, assessments and studies, guiding the effective implementation of fundraising strategies. Drawing on more than nine years of in-house fundraising experience, Alissa brings deep expertise in donor engagement and communications to every project.

 

Before joining The Curtis Group, Alissa was the inaugural director of donor engagement at the Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center, where she led strategies that strengthened donor relationships and expanded community support. Through targeted outreach, events and storytelling, she enhanced engagement and elevated the organization’s philanthropic visibility.

 

Alissa’s previous fundraising experience includes roles at Conservation International in the environmental sector and The NEA Foundation in K-12 public education. She holds a master’s degree in public relations and corporate communications from Georgetown University, where she received the Best Capstone Award, and a bachelor’s degree in international studies and Spanish from American University.

 

She currently serves on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals DC Chapter and on the board of directors for An Open Book Foundation, a local education nonprofit. In her free time, Alissa enjoys performing improv comedy, building Lego sets, cheering on the New York Yankees and attending live concerts.
